I worked in the mechanical department and helped rerail Gene's engines on several occasions. He was very good at moving the locomotive in an easy manner that made light work of the rerailing process. Always a smile when you would greet him. The railroad was blessed by his presence, his family was blessed by his love, and now The Lord blesses you for your understanding that he is now needed in Heaven. I just heard of Gene's passing away this afternoon. I am so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed working with him during my railroad days. He was a very good man, and I have good memories of him. A great guy to know & work with on the railroad . I worked with him at Valley Junction & out of Taylor many times .He loved his family very much .
