We are so sorry to hear about Papa Gene but we know now that he is happy as can be now that he has reunited with Lottie. Papa has a very special place in the hearts of our family and we loved him so much. We are so glad that he is no longer hurting or suffering at all. He is happy and rejoicing with the The Father above. He and Lottie are catching up on everything and enjoying being together again. WE will miss very much. We are sorry that we could not be there but we were there in spirit and in love. There is none other like Papa Gene. He will be deeply miss by everyone left here on earth but one day we will all see him again.

Matt I knew your mother and daddy as I was growing up in Hallsville.They were always laughing and having a good time. Dear Matt, Shannon and children;
Matt, I am sure you don't remember me and there is no reason for you to be able to, but I watched you grow up at the old Methodist Church before it burned. You were the flower of their love for each other. I loved your mother, as everyone did, but I know that she only went ahead in order to make Gene as welcome as she could when he arrieved. That was her way. I'll miss seeing Gene around town and asking about you, Shannon and the children, but I just know those two, upstairs with our "GOD", are just hugging, kissing and thinking what kind of service they can do for "GOD" next. I believe that Gene will enlist in the "Heavenly Choir of Angels", and Lottie will be cooking up her delicious "Heavenly Hash" to offer all the new comers. I can't wait to see their smiling faces when I enter the Golden Gates. Think on good memories and hold them dear to your heart and "GOD" will help you through this time of grief.
Shannon, thou we have never met, I feel very close to you. Thank you for finishing and publishing Lottie's cookbook and letting all of us who loved her so dearly to still have a part of her here with us on earth.
May "GOD" bless, comfort and be with you and your children at this time.

Uncle Gene as I knew him was a great man. I came to know him as uncle Gene by being introduced to him by his nephew Lance Key one evening at James F. Taylor Lodge.
