Our Beloved â??Nannyâ?
To all who knew our Nanny, she was so many things in life
A friend, a grandmother, a volunteer, a devoted and loving wife
When I think of what she meant to me, I start to shed a tear,
I have such fond memories of her that I hold so very dear
These past few days, our family has had many great stories to share
Weâ??ve laughed about her favorite phrases like â??Lawsy Mercyâ? and â??I Declareâ?
My heart is filled with joy when I think of things she loved to say
This makes me miss her more and more each and every dayâ?¦
Yes there were times I can remember that us grandkids drove her â??Battyâ?
When this occurred she loved to sayâ?¦â?Here Comes Your Grandaddyâ?!
This meant weâ??d better straighten up as we waited at the back door
â??Cause we knew if we were good, heâ??d have even more great things in store.
I can remember running to meet his car as he pulled into the drive
You could hear our Nanny at the swinging door saying â??Land Sakes Aliveâ?
Of course she was referring to all the commotion this would stir
As we ran to get our hugs and he made his way to kiss and greet her!
She was such an inspiration to those blessed enough to know her
One can never forget her beautiful smile, her kindred spirit, her warm laughter
Itâ??s these cherished memories that I feel I have been so wonderfully blessed
In all of those years I was able to spend with such loving Grandparents.
So to our special grandmother who we know is with our Lord Jesus
You were a special gift from God and your spirit lives within us
Please know that of all the things you were and will continue to beâ?¦
We thank our Lord and Savior for sharing with us such a beloved â??Nannyâ?!
