Alphis Eugene Gene Hammett's Obituary
Funeral services for Alphis Eugene Gene Hammett, 68, of Laneville will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, Henderson, with Rev. Clyde Tucker officiating. Interment will be in the Neeley Cemetery, with full military honors, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
Mr. Hammett passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler after a lengthy illness. He was born December 29, 1941, in Mt. Enterprise, Texas to A. B. and Katie Busby Hammett and was of the Baptist faith. He joined the United States Air Force on February 11, 1961, proudly serving our country for 21 years.
Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson. He was proceeded in death by his father, A. B. Hammett.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyne Ruth Parker Hammett of Laneville, children, Carole Instine Rodman of Henderson, Jay Hammett Michael of San Diego, CA, Anissa Villa David of Arlington and Richard Brian Hammett Dana of Royse City, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great-grandson. He is also survived by his mother, Katie Lee Hammett of Henderson, brother, Joel Hammett Jimmie, sister, Dianne Wylie Joe and one uncle Lonnie Bud Hammett all of Henderson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Kellie Sanders and Tanya Hammett.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Parker, Kelly Parker, Tommy Simmons, Kent Hughes, Jesse Clay, Corey Barnes, Dwayne Walker and Matthew McKinney. Honorary pallbearer will be Lynn Simmons.
