Funeral services for Alphis Eugene Gene Hammett, 68, of Laneville will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 22, 2010 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, Henderson, with Rev. Clyde Tucker officiating. Interment will be in the Neeley Read Obituary

I am so sorry that we were not able to be with family today. I pray for ALL the family and friends that God will give them peace with understanding that Gene himself, no doubt, is at peace and with God. He was a kind, nice person. I recall our school days, the rides to school on the school bus and a lot of the girls getting excited about Gene boarding the bus as he was a good looking young guy. I remember them asking me if he had a girlfriend, etc., and I would tell them I didn't know, I was just a "cousin".
