Dear Jean and Owen,

We know this must be a difficult time for you both..you are in our prayers. Bert, Ms. Bert to our children, will always be a part of our lives because she had such an impact on those she met...a wonderful, loving spirit! Our talks about raising children, education, and art were among some of my favorite topics we shared. She was our neighbor and most importantly our friend. We will miss her deeply, but I know she is watching over us from a place of peace. We were blessed to have her a part of our lives.

I have known Bert for many years. We started first grade together and then finished high school together. We were roommates for two years in college. She was a good friend and seemed to always look at life with a smile. I will miss her on our get togethers with Becky, Sue and Linda. At last she is at peace and pain free.

Tnank you for showing me how to endure with strength, grace and fortitude under the most trying conditions.

Bert.....we will miss your smiling face at our yearly "cuzin" get togethers. You were my com-patriot in poliitics! Think of you often and all the wonderful times we have shared through more than 50 years! One day we will meet again!
