I just wanted to tell you how much your father meant to my family and me. My daddy was Monk Willis. Your daddy was one of his best friends. They went to lunch every Tuesday without fail. It was something my daddy always looked forward to. Last year when Daddy was sick, Dr. Stevens continously called and even came to lunch at our house twice to see Daddy. He was a constant in our family's lives. I am forever grateful for his friendship to Daddy and to my sister and me. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your father was always such a gentleman. And, we are so grateful to him because we always felt he saved Nat's life when he was kicked by a horse. How many families must feel this way! He quietly added so much to Longview. I hope that you have many warm and happy memories of him. True##imported-begin##True S Mann##imported-end##

To the Family of Dr. Alexander C. Stevens, M.D., with deepest regrets and condolences & abiding respect. I was fortunate to get to know Dr. Stevens early in my career. He was a perfectionist at his craft and a wonderful teacher. In accordance with his military school, college & military service backgrounds, he was very regimented; and taught those he took under his wing to be regimented also. He was a wonderful Human Being, a man of great compassion and a physician & surgeon of extraordinary talent. I am a better person for having known him. Unfortunately, after I moved away from East Texas, I lost touch with him. May God hold you in the palm of his hand now and in the difficult days ahead. May your memories and love for him comfort you now and in the future. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.....##imported-begin##Matthew Lanagan##imported-end##
