Z.T. "Zachary Taylor" Parker's Obituary
Preceded in death by: His father, James Alvin Parker; mother Annie May Williams Parker; brother Robert Jack Parker; sisters Priscilla Burrows, Jimmy Parks, and Peggy Porter; Niece Jan Porter; and great-grand daughter Nataley Okuma Fralix . Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Glasco Parker who he always called “Baby”; children Laura Parker, James T. Parker, and Sally Parker Fralix; son-in-law Tim Fralix; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Parker is also survived by a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in which he was frequently seen cruising the streets of Henderson.
Mr. Parker was born in Arp, Texas in 1939 and lived his entire live in East Texas. He was a mechanic at Burks Tires in Henderson for thirty years and retired in 2000. He loved restoring old cars and had some of his work featured in national car magazines. In later years he enjoyed finding and restoring vintage radios. Mr. Parker was well known and had many friends all over East Texas. It has been said, that you could not throw a rock in Henderson without hitting someone who knew ZT Parker.
Friends and family are invited to visitation for Mr. Parker in the chapel of Rader Funeral home between 6 and 8 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Mr. Parker's funeral will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10 am with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Henderson.
