Wylma Gene Edwards' Obituary
Funeral services for Wylma Gene Dunn Edwards, 88, formerly of Bonham will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Rader Funeral Home. Visitation for the family and friends will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Rader Funeral Home. Wylma Gene passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015. Additional visitation will be held at Cooper-Sorrells funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 and services will be held Tuesday under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells funeral Home in Bonham, Texas. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.
Wylma Gene was born in Bonham, Texas on June 24, 1927. She graduated from Gober High School, married James (Jimmy) Dunn, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Dodd City, Bonham and Longview. She lived in Fannin County for 69 years.
She worked in the Tax Assessor and Collectors Office for over 15 years, was the Fannin County Treasurer for 4 years, worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 10 years, and retired from the Fannin County Appraisal Office in 1990.
In 1996 Wylma Gene married Doyce Wayne (Ed) Edwards, they moved to Longview, and lived there for the past 19 years until her death.
Wylma Gene is survived by her husband Ed Edwards of Longview; son Jimmy Dunn and wife Karen of Longview, Texas; daughter Gail Ownby and husband Richard of Keller, Texas; son Terry Dunn and wife LaDona of Longview, Texas; grandchildren Brian Ownby and wife, Lorene of Keller, Texas, Ashley Sladecek and husband, Brandon of Keller, Texas, Amber Dunn of Little Rock, Arkansas; great grandchildren Danielle and Bailey Ownby, Emerson and Easton Sladecek; brother Junior Dewoody and wife, Jackie of Mesquite, Texas; sister Elease (Tooter) Purdy of Bonham, Texas; step children Sherrie Bryant and husband, Jerry of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Carolyn Limia of West Palm Beach, Florida, Patty Vermillon and husband, Gary of Bonham, Texas; step grandchildren Wendy, Chris, Joey, Kenny, Lindsey, Danielle; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Wylma Gene was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Opal Dewoody.
