Bill Shirley, 80, of Glenwood, Texas went to be with the Lord and his granddaughter, Sara-Catherine Shirley, on Feb 18 at Upshur Manor Nursing Home. Chapel services will be Tuesday, Feb 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson, Longview. Internment will be a private family service at Rosewood Park, Longview. Dr. Ray Boulter and Rev. James Hall will officiate.
A native of East Texas, Bill was born on March 26, 1931 to Johnny & Agnes Shirley. He was a retired operator for Texas Eastman, a member of Winterfield UMC and a long-time member of Masonic Lodge No. 90 in Mt. Pleasant.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and high-school sweetheart, Betty; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Shirley and Ron Rasberry; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Shirley and Richard Carl, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" and Jeanie Shirley; brothers Art Shirley of Duncanville, TX and Bob Shirley of Lovington, NM; grandchildren, Ronna Rasberry-Oldham, Dr. Summer Shirley-Damuth, Richard "Mac" Carl, Jr., Blair Rasberry-Hiett, Loni Rasberry-Harper, Spencer Carl, Steve Oltman, Paul Oltman; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at Rader Funeral Home, Longeview Mon Feb 20 at 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
