Soon, the family was blessed with two more girls. Winnie graduated from Tyler High School in 1949. She attended Lanes Chapel Methodist Church where she met and later married the love of her life, Neilan Maurice Everett, on September 30, 1950. It wasn’t long before they moved to Longview and started their family of three. Winnie was a graduate of BMI School of Business and worked as a secretary for Anvil Products. She was a member of Winterfield Methodist Church and in later years joined First Baptist Church of Diana as they settled into retirement and country living.
Winnie, known by her family as Nana, was a faithful and strong woman who loved the Lord and her family. She was an amazing seamstress and could create and decorate effortlessly. She will be remembered for her love of God and family gatherings at Nana’s House.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben A. and Erin Glaze; her husband, Neilan M. Everett, in 2007; her siblings, Dr. Bob Glaze, Ben D. Glaze, Una Marie Green, and Fredia Melvin; and her precious grandson, Blake Nathan Everett. She is survived by her three children, Neilan Kenneth Everett (spouse Linda), Melanie Everett Pirtle (spouse Steve), and Robert Alan Everett (spouse Sarah); as well as her 6 very loved grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Dianne Everett.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her dedicated caregivers who gave her the greatest care and love over a span of 4.5 years: Angie, Marie, Chaila, Geneva, Angelis, Amber, Rosa, Bobby, Pam, and Kalecia.
