William L. Evans' Obituary
Graveside services for William L. Stan Evans, 91, of Longview, will be Twelve Noon Friday, January 21, at LaGrone s Chapel Cemetery with Michael Riley officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends at Rader Funeral Home on Thursday, Januray 20, from 5 to 7 PM.
Mr. Evans passed away on January 16 at the Sam Rayburn VA Community Living Center, Bonham, Texas.
A native of McCaskill, Arkansas, he was born February 22, 1919 to William G. and Bertie Wells Evans. Mr. Evans was a painting contractor and lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served his country in the US Army from 1940 to 1945and received a purple heart as well as the bronze star.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Lenorah Evans, sisters: Frances Williams and Norma Mitchell and a brother: William Grover Evans, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Jackie Evans Faughn and husband Bobby of Parker, Texas, grandchildren: Angela Riley and husband Mike of Garland, April Faughn of Rowlett, Capt Brian Faughn and wife Jamie of Avanio, Italy and Rachel Hennagan and husband Capt. Brandon Hennagan of St. Roberts, Mo; great grandchildren: Ashlyn Saab of Rowlett, Brock Riley of Garland and Tyson Hennagan of St. Roberts, Mo.; brothers and sisters: Dottie Moser of Houston, Helen Mercer of Longview, Betty Dillenger Ray of Tyler, Peggy Ramey of Longview, Patricia Hanson of Florida, Jerry Don Evans of Andrews, Bob Evans of Longview and a number of other relatives.
