William R. "Reo" Waller's Obituary
Funeral services for William R. “Reo “ Waller, age 88 of Henderson, will be held Saturday November 10, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Dr. David Higgs, and Rev. Bill Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Crim’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until service time on Saturday. Mr. Waller was born December 1, 1929 in Rusk County to Marvin Raymond and Minnie Viola Waller and died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at his residence with his family at his bedside. Mr. Waller was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson. He had worked for Lynn Roy & Wayne Freeman Company, but retired from the Henderson Independent School District where he worked in the Maintenance Dept. For many years Reo served with the Henderson Rescue Unit. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in the Korean Conflict on the LST 883 Ship, and for the past many years he always looked forward to going the ship's annual reunions which were held all over the United States including one in Henderson which he hosted. Each day he looked forward to going to the Star Café to have coffee with his friends, and would strike up a conversation with anyone who crossed his path. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Bobbie, his parents, sisters Opal Jones, Bernice Suber, Louise Johnson, Thelma Bristow, and Velma Grider, and brother Alpheus Waller. He is survived by his daughter Beverly Baughman and husband Mike of Henderson, son Scott Waller and wife Lisa of Tyler, grandson Justin Waller and fiance’ Jordan Dickey of Tyler, sisters Ann Waller of Henderson, and Martha Swinney of Tyler,and his faithful companion Trooper. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Dee Taylor, Tommy Alexander, Billy Alexander, Clay Gossett, Clay Wilder, and Joel Hale.
