William Jack “Bill” Upton
Funeral services for Bill Upton, 58, of Longview will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dale Perkins and Dr. Gregg Zackary officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Daingerfield at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16. He passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 in a Longview hospital. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Bill was born October 14, 1954 in Midland, TX. He worked for AEP/SWEPCO for 30 years, first as an electrician and then as an instrument repairman. Bill also volunteered his time in the media department at his home church, Mobberly Baptist Church. He loved photography and electronics and was a very good teacher.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Upton; his brother and sister, James Lee Upton and Donna Upton Linder.
Those left to cherish her memory are his wife of 35 years, Kathy Smires Upton; two sons, William Upton and his wife Shelby and David Upton; his sister-in-law, Betty Upton and several nieces and nephews.
