William Taylor's Obituary
Graveside services for William "Bill" Taylor , 78, of Longview will be 10 AM Wednesday at Lakeview Memorial Gardens With James Nix officiating. Mr. Taylor died Monday, October 28th in a Longview hospital.
He was born January 17, 1924 at Lamont, Arkansas to Luther and Rachel Minor Taylor and was a 34-year resident of Longview. Mr. Taylor was a master machine tool repairman and was a veteran of the United States Army having survived the invasion of Normandy and later serving in Korea. He was an avid fisherman, a ham radio operator, and a member of a local REACT group. Mr. Taylor was a Presbyterian.
He is survived by his wife, Iris of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law: Adrian and Sandra Taylor of Longview, Terry and Kaleta Taylor of Ft. Worth, Richard and Betty Taylor of Union Grove; daughter, Sandra T. McCain of Longview; sister, Willa D. Hoover and husband Ross of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; grandchildren: Carie, Christopher, Adam, Amanda, Lori, Penny, and Misty; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends: Mac Dempsey, James Nix, Sonny Green, Buster and Mr. and Mrs. Testa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 906, Longview, Texas 75606.
Family visitation will be Tuesday, October 29th at Rader Funeral Home 6 to 8 PM.
