William Henry "Bill" Rivers' Obituary
William Henry (Bill) Rivers went to his heavenly home on February 21, 2023, at
age 89. He was born in James, TX to the late William and Goldie Rivers. He was
the oldest of two children. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Lee
Rivers. After attending High School, Bill joined the United States Navy where he
served from 1951-1955. Upon his separation from the service. Bill was employed
with various Chemical and Construction Companies.
Bill married his wife of 66 years on June 16,1956. Three children were born from
this union. Bill had a passion for fishing and camping where he spent his leisurely
time. In his later years, Bill devoted his time to being a fulltime caregiver for his
wife.
Bill was proceeded in death along with his parents and brother; a stepdaughter
Linda Driver Stephens and a granddaughter Misty Stroud.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife June Fitch Rivers, a son
Kenneth Rivers, a daughter Vickie Barber, a daughter Teri Epting and son-in-law
John (Bob) Epting. Granddaughters Amy Langston, Lauren Barber, Kristina Barber,
Charle Gibson, and Kendra Rivers. Grandsons Ryan Barber and Dustin Rivers.
Great Granddaughters Kaylee Epting and Taylor Coplin. Great grandsons Kamryn
Langston and Zack Langston. Great Great granddaughters Kennedi Hemmen,
Jalynn Barber, Adalyn Barber, and Kassidy Gibson. Great Great grandsons Caydon
Hemmen, Cameron Barber, Brian Barber, Kyler Wilson, and Cameron Gibson.
Services for William Henry (Bill) Rivers are as followed, visitation will be held from
2:00 to 4:00 Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Radar Funeral Home. A graveside service
will be held at 10:00am, Monday, February 27, 2023 at Hallsville Cemetery.
