William Price Rogers, Jr.'s Obituary
Services for William Price Rogers, Jr. , 84, of Longview will be noon Monday, April 19th at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Rd. with Benny Bristow and Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Rogers died Thursday afternoon at a Longview nursing center.
He was born May 3, 1919 in Longview to William Price and Velma Findley Rogers. On March 15, 1942, he married Frances M. Brown-his wife of 62 years. He served with the Unites States Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre for which he received Good Conduct and Victory Medals. For 20 years ,
Mr. Rogers was Payroll Clerk for Service Pipe Line Co. and for 15 years was Office Manager for Lewis Foundation Drilling Co. He was a member of the Longview Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of Longview; his sons and their spouses: William M. and Lois Rogers of Rockport, Texas, Randall D. and Sharon Rogers of Austin, Texas and Timothy L. and Paula Rogers of Longview; grandchildren: Chris Wedemeyer of Portland, Texas, Price Rogers of Rockport, Texas and Ryan Rogers of Longview and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam Phillips, Morgan Wilson, Birney Westbrook, Jim King, Joe Harle, and Wayne Moseley. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday afternoon 3 to 5 PM.
