William Edgar McCreary's Obituary
William Edgar McCreary was born on January 10, 1965, to parents James and Linda McCreary in Lufkin, TX. He attended Mozelle Johnston Elementary, Judson Middle School, and graduated from Longview High School in 1983. He was a proud member of the Lobo Football Team. After graduation, he attended Henderson Country Jr. College in Athens America where he served as an Athletic Trainer for the Cardinals Football Team.
Growing up he shoed horses with his brother, Jimbo, and enjoyed riding and tending to his horses during the day. After marrying at the age of 25, he worked as an automechanic for Wal Mart and ABC Auto parts where his store received the 1990 annual Safety Award. If the Cowboys were playing, you better believe he was watching, and you’d hear about it soon. He loved to brag on his daughters and grandbabies to anyone nearby. His days were spent chatting with people in the community and sharing the gospel.
He is survived by his parents Linda & James, daughters, Rebecca (Jesse) Slagell and Jessica (Fulton) Miller, brother James “Jimbo” (Wendy) McCreary, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and one on the way, Uncle Bill (Donna) Allen, Aunts Barbara Carlton and JoNell Hollomon. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grand parents and Uncle Mike McCreary.
