William Curtis "Bill" Magee's Obituary
William Curtis “Bill” Magee, first baby born in Longview on January 1, 1939, and a lifelong resident, passed away on June 14th, 2024. Bill was the son of Curtis Edwin and Sarah Middlebrooks Magee, who both pre-deceased him.
After graduating from Longview High School in 1957, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 – 1966. On January 31, 1969, Bill married Marsha Holloway.
Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, sister Karen Massey of Longview, sons Thomas Magee (Christine) of Colorado Springs and Mike Magee (Kristi) of Longview, and daughter Sarah Magee (Nathan) of Puerto Moreles, Mexico. Grandchildren William Magee, Elizabeth Hancock (Dustin), Kevin Magee (Haley), Nicole Magee, Nathan Magee, and great-grandchildren Logan Hancock, Cason Hancock, Maisy Hancock, and Tegan Magee.
Bill worked for Texas Eastman for 25 years, retiring in 1999. In former years, Bill was very active in his church, having served in the Vestry, as Sr. Warden, and a delegate to the Diocesan Council.
The service for Bill will take place on Saturday, June 22, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal church, 909 Reel Road, Longview, at 10:00 AM. There will not be a visitation prior to the service, but rather a small reception after the service.
