William "Corey" Gilstrap's Obituary
Services for William “Corey” Gilstrap, 46, of Meridian, MS will be held at 11:00am Tuesday January 5, 2016 at the Bar None Cowboy Church with Jason Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery in Longview under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson. Pallbearers will be Eddy Nicholson, Andy Nicholson, Joe Dodson, Chance Riley, Monty Riley and Michael Riley. Honorary pallbearer will be Earl Byers. Corey was born March 12, 1969 in Seattle Washington to Wayne and Judy Gilstrap. He passed away December 30, 2015 in Meridian, MS.
Survivors include his wife Nancy; sons, Jacob Gistrap of MS, Trevor Markham and wife Kandice of Seminole, TX, and Ryan Loyd of Tatum; grandkids Nathan and Natalie Markham of Seminole, TX; extended family Dustin Markham and wife Jennifer and their kids Damon and Lizzy; parents, Wayne & Judy Gilstrap and Raven Carlson; brother, Thomas Gilstrap; sister, Amanda Carlson; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Corey loved hunting, fishing, cooking and grilling outside. He loved his family. He worked hard and played hard, he did everything at 100%. Corey was always wide open and a quart low. He was proud to have worked for North American Coal at Sabine mine in Hallsville and also at Liberty Fuels in De Kalb, MS for a total of 24 years.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday January 4, 2016 from 6-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
