William F. Denny
Funeral services for William F. Denny, 90, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Carol Petty officiating. Entombment will be in Rosewood Park. He passed away Wednesday, December 27 at his residence in Longview.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Denny was born March 7, 1916 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James A. and Anna Denny. He had been a resident of Longview for the past 22 years, and was a former resident of Shreveport and Houston. He was a graduate of Texas A & M University and was retired from Texas Eastern Oil & Gas Transmission Corporation as an accountant. He was a WWII Veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard.
Mrs. Denny was Tournament Director for the East Texas Senior Golf Association and was a former goalie for the Texas A & M National Championship Water Polo Team. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Longview.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ouida Marie Harris Denny of Shreveport and his second wife Marjorie Denny of Longview; and his brothers, Otway B. Denny and James A. Denny.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Barbara Johnson of Grapeland, Texas; son, William F. Denny, II of Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandchildren, William James Johnson, Jennifer Kathleen Johnson Prout, Thomas Ronald Johnson, Jr., and William Gerald Denny; great grandsons, Tyler Dean Johnson, Payton James Prout, and Christopher Logan Johnson.
