William Eugene "Gene" Hester's Obituary
William Eugene (Gene) Hester Sr. was born February 5, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Tx. He spent time as a boiler inspector, pipe fitter, construction super intendant, and was also part of the maintenance at Good Year Tire where after many years, he retired from. He was a member a free masonry, Masonic lodge 404 of Longview, TX. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Virginia Sue Hester (Sue Baby) for 54 years. He and his Sue Baby raised 4 children, William Eugene Hester Jr., Pamela Elizabeth Garner (Pete Garner), Michele Elaine Lane (Jason Lane), Ashley Ellen Bisner (Stephen Bisner) and 1 grandson, Michael Hester. Mr. and Mrs. Hester were the proud grandparents to 12 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewel P and Jewell C Hester, his mother in law Daisy Willis, his sister in law Shirley Vermillion, and his brother in law Bud Willis. We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Chastain who worked tirelessly to heal Eugene. Dr. Mekala and Dr. Earnest who came on a moments notice to do what they could to help. Last but not least, nurse Mimi that promised faithfully to stay with him the entire time and she fulfilled that promise. The family would like them to know how honored we were to have them with us in this time. Eugene was a great man that left behind many words of wisdom and compassion for others. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Graveside services will be held at Rosewood Park on Thursday, November 21, 2019 At 2:00 pm.
