William Edward Brown's Obituary
Memorial services and celebration of life for William Edward Brown, 86. of White Oak, will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev-erend Ray Tenpenny and long time friend Buck Lineberger officiating.
Mr. Brown went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Good Shepherd Hospital.
He was born April 19, 1918 in Honey Grove, TX to Hershel and Mamie Brown. On May 23, 1936 he married Eva Elizabeth Hall who remained the love of his life for 68 ½ years. March 16, 1944 he joined the Navy to serve his country he loved so much. He served on the USS Napa in the Pacific as Bossin Mate 1st Class operation an amphibious boat, taking Marines and medical supplies to the shores of Iwo Jima, where he had the great honor of seeing our flag being raised. Mr. Brown moved to Longview in 1954 and retired from Rader Funeral Home after 25 years. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church for 25 years, serving as president of his Sunday school class and greeter as long as his health allowed. After moving to White Oak in March, he became a member of East Mountain Baptist Church. After retirement he enjoyed working in his wood work shop. The important things to him were his Lord, his family, friends and his country. To his friends he was a man of honor always ready to encourage and help. To his wife he was the loving mate God created for her. To his children he was their Knight in shining armor, their Daddy who could do anything. He is now celebrating eternal life with his Lord and Savior, His Parents, His son Eddy Don and two brothers. Remaining and looking forward to a glorious reunion are his wife: Eva of White Oak; his daughters and sons in law: Patsy and Robert Rhodes of Hallsville, Sue and Monty Hill, Judy and Don Corbitt of White Oak; Son and daughter in law: Bill and Vicki Brown of Longview; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, daughter in law: Pat Brown of Hallsville, special family member Renetta Pearson of Longview.
