William Doyle "Bill" McCarrell's Obituary
Services for William Doyle ?Bill? McCarrell, 67, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 30, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., with Dr. Lynne Settlemyre officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. McCarrell died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. McCarrell was born December 29, 1935 in Mineola. He
graduated from Mineola High School and served in the U. S. Army
in Germany. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Texas State University and retired from Action Stainless and Alloys, Inc. in Carrollton in March, 2002 because of ill health. He was in stainless steel sales. He was a member of Greggton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing all his life.
Mr. McCarrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Susan McCarrell, His parents, Homer and Ina McCarrell and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lloyd and Pat Shackelford.
He is survived by his wife, Judy McCarrell; a son, William Allen McCarrell of Longview; two daughters, Lee Ann McCarrell and her husband, Glen Kittelson, Longview and Stacey Lynn Powers of Longview; a sister, Wynell Burkett of Dallas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jan and Lawrence
Guess of Houston; three grandchildren, Ashley Taylor and Connor Taylor, both of Longview and Cason Allen McCarrell of Big Sandy; five nieces and nephews; special friends, Marla Cabbaniss, Linda White and Seth Vanover, faithful companions, Zachary and Zoey and many close friends.
Pallbearers are Bobby Coffey, Jim Schill, Jeff Roe, O. B. McClure, Tom Floyd and Jeff Hightower.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Rambin, Windell Strange, Bobby Snyder, Don Dean, Bill Carson, J. N. Goodwin, Rick Dent and Byron Rothpletz.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Larry L. Frase, Toni Wallace, Wanda Chism and all the staff at Longview Cancer Center.
They also wish to thank all the staff of Hospice Longview, especially Ed Arneson and Kay Roberts.
