William B. Langston, MD's Obituary
Funeral services for Dr. William B. Langston, Jr., 78, of Longview, will be 11 AM Tuesday at the First Christian Church of Longview with Rev. Dr. James Lewis, Rev. Phil Jones and Rev. Rex Humphreys officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorials Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
Dr. Langston died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital.
A native of San Francisco, California, he was born August 17, 1925 to William B. and Bernice Langston. Dr. Langston came to Longview in 1955 and started his psychiatry practice. He was a member of the First Christian Church, lifetime member of the American Psychiatric Association, Life member of the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and received the Distinguished Service Award as Psychiatrist of the Year from the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians. He served as medical staff president at Good Shepherd Medical Center 1969 to 1970 and Past President of Titus Harris Society, society of University of Texas Medical Branch graduates in psychiatry. He served his country in the US Navy. Presently Dr. Langston was working with the Sabine Valley Center and Greater Hospice of Texas.
Survivors include his son: William Brooks Langston, III of Dallas; Daughters: Barbara Langston Mason of Garland and Carolyn Langston Stringer and husband Bill of Longview; Step daughter: Terri Patrick Cox and husband Blair of Dallas; Step Son: Timothy Patrick and wife Janean of Longview; Grandchildren: Michael Mason, Skyla Langston, Ray Stringer, Brandon Stringer and Jeremy Stringer; Step Grandchildren: Emerson Cox, Claudia Patrick and Grace Patrick; Great Grandson: Michael Thomas Mason; Brother: Robert Langston.
