William A. Bill White, III
William A. Bill White, III passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 with his family at his side.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 12 p.m., Monday, December 6 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery, Longview.
VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
Bill was born on January 8, 1941 in Longview to William A. White, Jr. and Dot Collins White. Bill graduated from Longview High School in 1958. He also graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1963 with a degree in Finance. He was a lifelong Longhorn Football fan and enjoyed attending games in Austin. Bill was an avid fan of all sports and instilled the same enthusiasm in his three children.
Following graduation, Bill worked for the U.S. Treasury Department in Philadelphia, PA. He thoroughly enjoyed living near New York City with the numerous sports and theater opportunities. He later worked for the U.S Treasury Department New Orleans LA Fidelity National Bank Baton Rouge LA, and First National Bank of Commerce New Orleans LA. Bill served as a director of the Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County and retired in May, 2006.
Bill?s community activities included the New Orleans Estate Planning Council president, Tarrant County United Way, Tarrant County of North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition.
SURVIVORS: His children and their families. Sons, William A. White, IV and his wife Tina of Slidell LA and Charles Brent White and his wife April of Grand Prairie TX; daughter, Arden White Kirsch and her husband Arthur of New Orleans LA; five grandchildren, Isabella and Olivia White, Sophie and Preston White, and Claire Kirsch; sister and brother-in-law, Michael and Patricia White Davis of Colleyville TX; niece, Kathleen Davis of Fort Worth.
