William A. "Bill" Tipton
Funeral services for William A. "Bill" Tipton, 81, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen Coleman officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery.  He passed away, Sunday, May 10 in Longview.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the funeral home.
Mr. Tipton was born January 3, 1928 in Scott County, VA to Clarence and Lillian Peters Tipton.  He attended high school at Schumaker High School in Gate City, VA and left his junior year and joined the Navy, where he served in the Pacific area during WW II.
After he was discharged from the Navy, he returned to Gate City and finished high school.  Later, he moved to Detroit, MI and then to Texas to be with his family.  He worked for Cherokee Construction Company before transferring to Texas Eastman Co. where he was a supervisor of OXO Department.  On May 19, 1986 he retired after 36 years service.  Later he worked part time for Kirby Company of Longview.
He was a board member of the Elderville Water Co. for 21 years, and a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Longview.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Jr. Lee Tipton; sister, Mildred Frazier; and great granddaughter, BeBe Bishop.
Bill will be remembered by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Moseley Tipton; son, Royce Wyatt; granddaughters, Holly Bishop and husband Greg and Mary Foster and husband Kevin; great granddaughters, Scarlet Bishop, Lexi, Loran, and Grace Flanagan; and great grandson, Logan Bishop; brothers, James Tipton and wife Annette and Carl Tipton and wife Karol; sisters, Peggy Bruner and husband Maxey and Mary Shivers and husband Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, "Casper".
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3613 S. Broadway, Tyler TX 75701; the Gideon's International, P.O. Box 150004, Longview, TX 75615; or to a favorite charity.
