Willard Harvey Riddle's Obituary
Willard H. Riddle, 91 of Hallsville passed into the Lords arms in the early afternoon of Sunday, March 22, 2020 surrounded by his family. The family will be having a private graveside service at Memory Park of Longview under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
Willard was born in Trinity KY on December 15, 1928 to parents William and Frieda Riddle. Willard joined the Army in 1945 and served his Country until 1958 assisting in the occupation of Germany post WWII and the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Willard gained a love of food; feeding others and cooking for family. He also had a love of animals- and his cat, Gracie will miss him dearly. In his later life, Willard was always overjoyed to spend time with his family; watching The Cowboys when they were playing well.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frieda Riddle; brothers Delmas and Eugene; sisters Bonnie and Maxine; and step-son James Hill. Those left to cherish their memories of Willard include his wife of 55 years, Ella Riddle; daughter Darla Jones; step-son Dell Dixon; step-daughter Marcilyn Hammond; sisters Avanelle Eppensteiner, Joyce Moore, Evelyn Riddle, Thelma Stone and Garnita McCall; brother Roy Riddle; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
