Willard J. Huffman's Obituary
Willard J. Huffman was born on April 24, 1926 in Sadler, TX, to Jesse Willard Huffman and Julia Edith Huffman.
He was a WWII veteran, and after the war had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying a small plane.
In the 1950’s Willard was partner in a business in the new frozen food industry with Allied Frozen Foods in Dallas, TX. This was followed by a long career with the U.S. Postal Service at the downtown Longview, TX branch. He retired from the Post Office in 1988. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Cherokee with his children, grandchildren, and friends, along with other outdoor activities such as gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Willard was preceded in death by his sisters, Chlorie Allday and Dora Pierson. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bobbie Jean Huffman; his sister Jessie Pearce; his children Dr. Larry Huffman and wife Sue Reed, and Rebecca Huffman Givens; and his grandchildren, Larry Huffman Jr, Christopher Huffman, Matthew Huffman, Heather Huffman, Jacob Givens, Hannah Givens, Sarah Givens, and Emily Givens.
Willard was known for his generosity and kindness, and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 1pm in the mausoleum at Rosewood Park in Longview.
