Wendell Wade Peacock's Obituary
Wendell Wade Peacock went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 27th 2024 Peacefully. He was born October 9th 1959, In Houston Texas to Frank and Dorothy. The Peacock family moved to Longview Texas in 1967. Wendell played little league baseball and was a part of the Boy Scouts of America he continued to live the Scouts oath and Scouts law throughout his life. Wendell attended Mozelle Johnston Elementary and Judson Middle School where he played the saxophone in the Judson band and the jazz stage band. This is where his love for Music and sports began. After middle school he attended Longview High School and continued in the band where he was proud to be part of the Longview High School marching band as well as the jazz stage band which became is favorite.
After high school Wendell attended Texas Tech University where he was a devoted Texas Tech Red Raider and was in the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology on December 16th 1989, which he was very proud of. While in Lubbock he DJ’d at Night Clubs and was even a Dj on the Radio.
After college Wendell worked in his field as a production specialist for Neiman Marcus building department stores. He then went on to be project managers for other companies building restaurants, movie theaters and many other buildings throughout the Dallas area. He was very smart and meticulous about his work.
Wendell loved Music and dancing it was a huge part of his life, he was also an avid sports fan. He played golf, softball and enjoyed fishing and hunting – he loved the outdoors. Wendell and his family always had pets growing up and he had a love for all animals especially his two recent dogs Marley and Cooper.
But the one thing Wendell was most proud of was being a father to his son Sean. He loved all the things that came along with being a dad and he was excited about being a grandfather to his two grandkids. We will all have another guardian angel to watch over us till we meet again.
He was met in Heaven by his parents Frank and Dorothy Peacock.
He is survived by his sister Amy and husband Scott his former wife Kari and their son Sean and his wife Mary and their two boys. His cousin Terry and Aunt Dixie. Cousin Teresa and her husband Jerry along with the extended Peacock family and their children as well as many friends he cherished.
Wendell never met a stranger, and he always knew how to have a good time – if you were around Wendell there would be laughing, dancing and for sure doing something fun!
For everyone that knew him, a big part their life had been touched and will never be the same.
A Family Directed Celebration of his Life will be Sunday October 13th at 1:00 p.m.at Nantucket 4070 Rupe Huffman Rd. Longview Texas 75605 Please join us to celebrate, listen to Wendell’s favorite music and celebrate his fun and happy life by sharing stories with his friends and family.
