Wandafern Fern Nieman's Obituary
Wandafern Fern Webb Nieman, 85, of Longview, Texas passed from this life to her eternal home on December 10, 2007.
Services will be Thursday, at 2 PM, at Little Flock Baptist Church, Longview, with the Reverend Leon Veazey officiating. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Park Mausoleum.
She was born in McLeansboro, Hamilton County, Illinois on September 11, 1922. She was the daughter of George Sr and Grace Thompson Webb. She graduated from McLeansboro Township High School in 1941. On September 18, 1944 she married Robert L. Nieman Sr.
Mrs. Nieman was preceded in death on September 27, 1996 by husband and also a brother, George Jr.
Fern is survived by her children; Bobby and Donna Nieman, and Debbie Nieman and Lynn Simpson, all of Longview; three grandchildren, Stacey Nieman Fleming, Brian Simpson, and Kristin Simpson Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Allissa Fleming, brothers Kermit and Ron Lee Webb of McLeansboro, Illinois; and her best and most loyal friend, her dog Ranger.
Mrs. Nieman was a great mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren?her family. She enjoyed her church and especially loved her Sunday school class.
The family wishes to express thanks to the nurses and aides of Good Shepherd Hospital?s sixth floor. We especially want to thank the staff and Sally LeJeune, RN, ANP at Heritage At Longview Healthcare Center. Words cannot express the service, kindness, and understanding they showed Mrs. Nieman and her family.
Pallbearers will be Brian Simpson, Beau Carpenter, Jodey Fleming, Jerome Webb, Joe Gibson, Glenn Elliott, and Les Littleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Little Flock Baptist Church, Building Fund, 14206 FM 968 West, Longview, Texas 75602.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Radar Funeral in Longview.
