Wanda Case's Obituary
Wanda Case, age 94, of Longview, passed away April 5, 2022. She was born October 15, 1927 in Clarendon TX to Forrest and Maude Burrow.
The family moved to Petersburg, Texas when she was a child, and it was there she attended local schools growing up and graduated from Petersburg High School. During high school she met a fellow student, Robert “Pete” Case and they were married November 28, 1942, before they graduated high school. Friends and family said the marriage would not last, but they proved them wrong. They were married 78 years at the time of Pete’s passing. Wanda and Pete were a farmer in Petersburg for over 25 years until they moved to Longview in 1968. In Longview, Wanda continued to work outside in her gardens and canning and furthered her skill in crochet.
Wanda was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a life-long member of the Presbyterian faith. She also enjoyed square dancing and was part of the Lucky Squares.
Those left to cherish Wanda’s memory is 1 daughter Sandra Miller and her husband Jimmie and their children Dawn Grogan and her husband Dennis, and Todd Miller and his wife Dionne, 1 son Randy Case and his children Leigh Ann Heron and her husband Kori, Ryan Case and his wife Kayla and Randy’s former wife and mother to their children Brenda Case. Also survived are 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister Barbara Wossum and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the New Journey Cumberland Presbyterian Church or HeartsWay Hospice in Wanda’s name.
