Wanda Ann Griffin's Obituary
Funeral services for Wanda Ann Yates Griffin, 83, of Henderson, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the Rader Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Hall officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Griffin died July 1, 2008 in Henderson Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 5, 1925 in Booneville, Arkansas to Alexander and Grace Beck Yates. She was a 1942 graduate of Gaston High School and a longtime resident of Henderson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church , a leader for Camp Fire Girls for 10 years, and was a librarian for the Rusk County Library.
Surviving are daughters; Darlene Blair of Dallas, and Dolly Riley and husband Sidney of Lawton, OK.; grandchildren, Jennifer Joann Blair of Arlington, Jessica Diann Rayburn and husband Robert of Arlington, Kathryn Ann Riley of Singapore, Josh Riley and wife Erin of Weatherford, TX.; sisters-in-law, Geneva Yates of Tyler, Josephine Yates of Fresno, CA.; nephews, Jimmy Yates of Tyler, Gene Yates of Fresno, CA; nieces, Jolene Yates and Susie Yates, both of Fresno, CA.; great grandchildren, Audrey, Isaac, Raymond, Tyler, and Blair of Arlington.
Pallbearers were Sidney Riley, Josh Riley, Robert Rayburn, and Paul Glass.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Conference or to the American Cancer Society.
