Walter T. "W. T." Martin's Obituary
Walter Tilden (W.T.) Martin was born September 28, 1942 to Cecil and Marian Martin in Atlanta, Tx. He attended Longview High School, Class of 1961. On July 2, 1960, he married Brenda Kay Martin (nee Simpson) and they lived in Longview, Dallas, and Uncertain at Caddo Lake for various periods during their 61 year marriage. Walter was most at home on the lake, and his passions were crappie and bass fishing, watching Jeopardy and hot rods.
Walter is preceded in death by his wife Brenda, his parents, his brothers Ron, Richard (Dick) and Gene. He is survived by his sons, Mitchell and wife Laurie, Kirk, Keith and wife Gina, Chris and wife Beth, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, along with his sister Elaine.
A come and go, casual celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 1:00-3:00pm at Stamper Park Center (502 S Center St, Longview TX). Refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, it was Walter’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
