Walter Russell Roberts
Funeral services for Walter Russell Roberts, 77, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 17, in the Chapel of the Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd., Longview, with Reverend Diane Dill-Lanham officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Park Mausoleum. Mr. Roberts died Thursday, December 13 in a local hospital.
Mr. Roberts was born September 22, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Walter Russell and Erna Pauline Roberts. He was a member of the St. Andrew?s Presbyterian Church and had been employed by the Upjohn Company working as a warehouseman for over 36 years.
He served his country during World War II in the Air Force and married Nancy Virginia Myers, May 11, 1947.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Nancy Myers Roberts of Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Ann Roberts of Lewisville, TX, Brad and Dalene Roberts of Carthage, TX; four randchildren and seven great grandchildren and many wonderful friends whose lives he enriched with his humor, kindness and generosity and whose friendship and affection meant so much to him.
Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ray Knox.
