Walter "W.B." Lake's Obituary
Walter “W.B.” Lake, 74, of Longview passed away Tuesday Morning at Longview Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 4 p.m. He was born on July 16, 1941 in Timpson, TX to the late Troy and Theda Lake. Walter attended school at Gary, TX and graduated with the class of 1961. On August 24, 1963 he married the love of his life, Billie Brooks. Mr. Lake was a barber for 54 years and also did tree work for 45 years. He was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and enjoyed playing golf. The words “May the Work I Have Done Speak for Me” is Mr. Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren Harrison and Ali Steele.
He is survived by his loving wife Billie of 52 wonderful years; son Brad and wife Ty Lake of McKinney, TX, son Chad and wife Kim Lake, daughter Amy Steele and fiancé Del Chun, daughter Amanda and husband Kyle Moore all of Longview; grandchildren Brooklyn, Makailyn, and Garrison Steele, Parker Lake, Hunter Lake, Colt and Maddox Moore, Avery, Aiden and Landan Chunn; brothers and sisters Troy and wife Jeanette Lake, Joe and wife Judy Lake, Judy and husband Chilton Stuart; Maxie and wife Janice Lake; numerous nieces and nephews.
