Walter Charles McBride's Obituary
Services for Walter Charles McBride, 90, of Longview will be 10 AM Monday, January 7, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Dr. Tim Watson and Reverend Billy Mac McBride officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Entombment will follow in Memory Park Mausoleum. Mr. McBride passed away Thursday evening in a Ft. Worth hospital. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Walter was born on September 15, 1917 in Jackson Parrish, Louisiana to Charles and Martha McBride. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion, serving as Commander from 1962-1963. He was married on December 1, 1942 to his loving wife Marie for 65 years, and they were members of First Baptist Church in Longview. Walter worked as a materials control manager for Cities Service Oil Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Paul Lewis McBride; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie McBride; daughter and son-in-law, Michele Denise and Robert Wakeman of Plano; daughter-in-law Alice Trice McBride, 2 brothers, James D. McBride of Gold Donna, LA and Billy Mac McBride of Jackson Parrish, LA; 1 sister, Mary McConathy of Jackson Parrish, LA; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
