W. L. "Bill" Dixon Sr.'s Obituary
W. L. “Bill” Dixon, Sr., age 93 of Gilmer passed away November 4, 2016. He was born April 11, 1923 in Van Buren, AR and then grew up in Ft. Smith. Bill being a true patriot honorably served his country during WWll in the US Navy as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class. Later Bill started and ran his own successful Pipe Coating business for many years throughout the country. Bills passion and what he enjoyed most was working and living on his ranch with his family in Gilmer.
Those left to cherish his memory is his son Weldon Mackey, grandchildren Heather, Kelsey and Stormy Dixon, Tammi, Tara and Byron Mackey, a sister Jean Campbell, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends that will sorely miss him.
Bills son William “Billy” Dixon, Jr., and beloved wife Georgia Dixon both precede him in passing.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home in Longview Wednesday evening November 9, 2016 from 5pm-8pm then funeral services the next day, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the funeral home starting at 10am with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
