W. G. Coley, Sr.'s Obituary
Services for W. G. Coley, Sr., 83, of Longview will be 10 AM Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Pine Tree Church of Christ, 3221 Dundee Rd. with David Cotham officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Coley died Tuesday, October 1 in Longview.
He was born December 31, 1918 at Blum, Texas to Harry G. and Anna Grisham Coley. In 1936 he married Martha Elizabeth Roark. After completing his military service with the United States Marine Corps, they lived in California and Ft. Worth and moved to Longview in 1947. He established the Longview Brass and Aluminum Foundry which is now operated by his sons. Mr. Coley was a charter member of the Mobberly Avenue Church of Christ where he served many years as an elder and was actively involved with foreign missionary work. He was instrumental in the formation of Little League Baseball in Longview and was one of its first coaches.
Mr. Coley was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Thompson; a granddaughter, Beth Stafford and a grandson, Stephen Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizqabeth Coley; daughter, Martha Stafford and husband Don of Brenham, TX; sons, Bill Coley and wife Sandra of Longview and Alton Coley and wife Vickie of Longview. His grandchildren, Stacie Stafford Fischer, Penney Stafford Eubank, Carla Coley Matthews, Gordon Scott Stafford, Christie Coley Eason, Erin Lee Coley and Alton Clint Coley also survived him.

The family will receive friends at the Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
