Mr. W.C. Fields' Obituary
Memorial services for W. C. Fields, 82, of Longview will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Fields passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Longview.
W.C. was born in Troup, TX on November 8, 1931 to John Tom and Wrennie Mignonette Fields. He was the youngest of ten children. He married Jo Ann Martin on December 23, 1956.
Surviving W.C. is his wife of 57 years Jo Ann Fields of Longview; son and daughter-in-law Todd and Cindy Fields of White Oak and their children Jeffrey, Joshua and Lauren; daughter and son-in-law Bernice and Kerry Kilgore of Hallsville and their children and grandchildren daughter Kassandra, son and daughter-in-law Randy and Sharrell Kilgore and sons Rykes and Nash, daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Curtis Puckett, sons Riley and Glendale and daughter Holly; daughter and son-in-law Lewanda and Rolando Diaz of Lubbock. Also Surviving W.C. is his brother Royal Fields of Whitehouse; special friend Kenda Fairbanks; great nieces Cheyenne Rudder and Montana Stauts and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
W.C. was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge, having received his 50 year award in 2012. He endowed memberships to both Dixie Lodge #272 and Pine Tree Lodge #1396. W.C. served in the United States Army from August of 1953 to June of 1955, active duty. He was an avid fisherman. He and his family spent many summers camping across the country. W.C and JoAnn have camped in all 50 states. W.C. was a devoted husband, loving father, and faithful friend. He had an inspiring sense of humor.
