Volette Meadows' Obituary
Volette Meadows, was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Broaddus, Texas to Frank and Maggie Williams. She graduated from high school in Huntington, Texas in 1951
She went on to marry the love of her life James S Meadows Sr. on December 13, 1949. After marriage, they moved to Longview, Texas which later became their home and started their family. That union was blessed with 6 children, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She passed away Saturday January 12, 2019, surrounded by family at her home, of Pancreatic Cancer.
Leaving behind to celebrate her life are daughters: Shelia Ridgeway (Husband Jimmy), Charlotte Mudd, Shera Baker (Husband Bob), Sons: James Keith Meadows, Steven Meadows, and Stacey Meadows (Wife Kathy), a brother Arlis Williams and a sister Vernelle Horn.
She is preceded in passing by her parents Frank and Maggie Williams, and brothers Curtis and Cornell Williams.
She worked downtown for 20 years, Property Manager for 22 years, and the Diagnostic Clinic of Longview for 18 years in which she found her second family. She loved every day at her job. It was with many memories and tears her health caused her resignation on Oct.12, 2018.
She was a devoted Christian and loved working in her church. She will be missed by many but will live on with each of us in our daily lives. The family finds peace in knowing she is no longer suffering but is now free from all pain and with her loved ones in heaven.
To Pastor Rusty and Anna Brady and Pastor Hildreth for their care, prayers and wonderful Christian faith that kept my faith on solid Christian ground.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wheeler, Dr. Earnest, Dr. Koya and Dr. Grifenkamp for taking such great care of our Mother and Granny.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral home of Longview. A Celebration of Life for Volette will be held on Saturday January 19, 2019 at The Remnant Church 4344 US 259 Longview Texas 75605 at 11:00 am.
