Services for Vivian Richard , 94, of Longview will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 15th at the Nicholson Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Pat Sparks and Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will be Wednesday afternoon in the Enid Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was born December 11, 1913 in Electra, Texas to George Edward and Lena Skipwith Dodd. On June 17, 1935 she married Gerald Harry Richard who preceded her in death in 1973. She resided in Gladewater from 1946 to 1962 when she moved to Enid, Oklahoma where she resided until moving to Longview in 1981.
Mrs. Richard was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Longview where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Women's Fellowship and church quilting group. She was a homemaker and prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress at Riff's Dress Shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Barbara Jean Richard; granddaughter, Donna Walls House and sister-in-law, Viva Manuel.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Donald Walls of Longview; son, Gary Richard of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Tom Jantz of Edmond, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jeannie Richard of Gladewater; daughter and son-in-law, Bettye and Steve Gary of Longview; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Patty Richard of Tyler.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Monday evening 7 to 9 pm.
