Thank you and your family for so many memories from when I was in high school 1968-1971. The memories from the lake house and you hospitality will always be precious. To Mrs. Schuler’s Son Larry, it’s been a long time and I didn’t find out about your Mother until 1-6-10. Larry we had some great times back in our High School days.

Your Mom and Dad were always so gracious when I would come to Texas for visits. It was fun to make the rounds from Jacksonville to Marshall then on to Longview. She always had a smile on her face, even after trajedies that had happened. I know you will miss her dearly.

Dear Larry & Dot,
I will always remember your mother as being one of the kindest ladies I've ever known. She always had that wonderful smile on her face and really lit up the room with her presence. She led a wonderful 92 years and I could only wish that I could have half her "spunk" at her age. I will always remember my Dad calling Aunt Vivien often and how they both so fondly shared their memories when they were young. Dear Larry and Dot,
Vivian meant the world to me and to my children. She and Mr. Bob adopted our family like we were their own. She was loving, kind and gracious and had an inner strength that defied all odds. She truly walked with Christ here on earth and you could see His light in her. We were all saddened to learn of her death, but know she is happy being reunited with Dale and Mr. Bob. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will be at the service tomorrow, but am unable to attend the visitation tonight.

I considered Vivian Schuler’s son, Dale, my “Brother by another Mother”. Mrs. Schuler was definitely my “other Mother”. She was the most loving and kindest lady I ever had the pleasure of knowing. I was fortunate to know her since my early teens and met many of her large family in my youth. I sat often at the Schuler’s table and never once felt unwelcome in their home. When I visited with her recently it was as though we were together every day instead of once every few years. I am glad I knew her. I only knew Mrs. Schuler through the loving words and thoughts shared by her son, Larry. He has been a close friend since we attended UT together. Larry has talked a great deal in the past year about his mother's love for her church family as well as the many relatives and friends that she had.
