Virginia Sullivan's Obituary
Virginia Ann Sullivan, 71, of Longview passed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Virginia, otherwise known as Ginger, was born on July 31, 1953 in Longview, Texas to her parents, Jesse and Francis Owens. She was the oldest of 13 children and her family valued her hard working ethic and compassion she showed when helping her parents care for her younger siblings. When Virginia was 17, she met James Dean Sullivan and the two quickly fell in love. They were married for almost 50 years before JD left this world in February of 2017.
Virginia was an enthusiastic entrepreneur who took great pride in finding just the right items for her buyers. She also assisted her husband, JD, with his upholstery business for many years. Ginger was a full time mom to her five children: Jerald, Teresa, Gale, Tracy and the late Heather Sullivan all of Longview.
Virginia Sullivan is preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Francis Owens; her siblings: Dean Owens, Michael Owens, Kennith Owens, Juanita Rodriquez, and Barbara Kuykendall; as well as her daughter: Heather Sullivan. She leaves behind her brother, Wesley Owens and her sisters: Jeanie Kelly, Sue Underwood, Wanda Owens, Nancy Torres, Patty Owens, and Kathy Martinez. Virginia also leaves behind her children: Jerald Sullivan, Teresa Sullivan, Gale Sullivan and Tracy Sullivan along with his wife, Elayna. Virginia’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: Emily Fenton, Maddox Sullivan, Alanna Gray, Jordan Gray, Trista Hoette, Marissa Fields, Natalie Sullivan, Whitney Sullivan, Dax Sullivan, Zander Kennedy and Carter Winters. She is a two-time great-grandmother to Grayson and Avery Davis.
Ginger was loved by all who knew her and will be incredibly missed. Her family will always recall how giving, self-less, caring and happy she was and hold on to their treasured memories that she leaves behind.
The Visitation Service will be held at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Road on January 14, 2025 at 11AM with the Funeral to follow at 12pm. There will be a short Graveside Service following the Funeral at Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview.
