Virginia Rose Butler's Obituary
Born June 18, 1931 to Mr. and Mrs. G.G. Jones of Holly Grove, Arkansas. Virginia Lived in Clarendon and Rison before moving to Pine Bluff, Arkansas with her parents who built and operated Jones Café on Noble Lake outside of Pine Bluff. She graduated from Linwood High School as her graduating class queen.
She married her husband, Milton, on July 29, 1951 in Pine Bluff where they made their home for all their 50 years of marriage. The have two children, Steve Butler and Debbie B. Abbott. Steve is married to Monty and lives in Henderson, Texas. They have three sons, Gyce , Drew, and Ryan. Debbie is married to John Abbott and lives in McGehee, Arkansas. The have one son, Jesse, and one daughter, Carmen , of Benton.
Virginia and her husband were active members of Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church for almost 50 years. She was involved in Sunday School, Childrens? programs,
and the Senior Adult Ministry. She moved to Henderson, Texas three years ago and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for Arkansas Power and Light in early years and then for Business Service Corporation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents, G.G. and Lucille Jones, and her brother, Buddy Jones, all of Pine Bluff.
Survivors include her children and their families, her sister Bobbie Jackson of Hensley; two aunts, Dorothy Harr of Slovak, Arkansas and Erma Graves of Stuttgart, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, September 4, at 6:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas. Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, Arkansas at 2:00 PM with her son officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, or First Baptist Church Church in McGehee, Arkansas, or Calvary Baptist Church Music Ministry in Henderson, Texas.
