Virginia B. Potter's Obituary
Virginia Bell VanHuss Potter, age 96, of Longview, passed away peacefully at home with family on April 7, 2016. She was born in Lone Oak, Texas to George and Mittie Van Huss.
She attended local schools in Lone Oak. She married Virgil E. Potter and together they served for over 35 years at various churches throughout Texas. After his death, she returned to Lone Oak to take care of her aging mother and younger brother Bill. While there, she served as City Secretary for over 20 years. She was an avid reader and loved her family deeply.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her daughter, Cathy Potter Hadley; two sons, Don Potter and Mike Potter; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Bobbie Moon; and her brother, Wayne Van Huss. Preceding her in death are: her parents; two brothers, Jesse and Bill Van Huss; two husbands, Rev. Virgil E. Potter and Kit Long; and one grandson, Jason Virgil Hadley.
Friends are welcome to join the family for graveside services at 1 pm, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Colonial Gardens in Marshall.
