Virginia Padden's Obituary
Funeral services for Virginia Dunnam Padden, 76, of Longview will be 10:30 AM Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Greggton United Methodist Church with Revs. Harral Dunnam and Emmitt Barrow officiating. Interment will be at Hill Crest Cemetery, in Haughton, LA at 2:30 PM under direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Padden died March 2, 2004 in Longview. She was born at Alden Bridge, Louisiana on December 9, 1927 to Joseph Arthur and Essie Crenshaw Dunnam, both of whom predeceased her, as did her brother, J. A. Sonny Dunnam, Jr.
Mrs. Padden was a graduate of Vivian High School and Louisiana State University, where she was a member of BSO Sorority and the Student Senate. She was employed as an Executive Secretary for Cities Service Oil Company for 16 years. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Greggton United Methodist Church, the board of Asbury House Child Enrichment Center, and of Oak Crest Woman?s Club.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond P. Padden, one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Melissa Padden of Houston; two grandsons, Jacob Padden and Cooper Padden of Houston; a sister-in-law, Frances B. Dunnam; a nephew, J. A. Dunnam, III of New York City; a niece, Nancy roper; and a great-niece, Lisa Geter.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Friday, March 5, 2004 at Rader Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are: Shannon Wright, Greg Butts, Greg Holliday, Robert Cox, Robert Hamilton, Jeff House, Kevin Allums, Brad Irick, David Wood, and Steven Self.
It was Mrs. Padden?s wish that any memorials be given to Asbury House Child Enrichment Center, Greggton United Methodist Church, or the Arthritis Foundation.
