Virginia De Ette Evans' Obituary
Services for Virginia De Ette Evans, 71, of Longview will be 2 PM Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday, February 20, at 1 PM at Harmony Methodist Cemetery in Magnolia, Arkansas. Ms. Evans passed away Tuesday morning in a local nursing home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Virginia was born on May 30, 1938 in Taylor, Arkansas to Denman and Lomer Britt. She received a Bachelor of Science from North Texas State University, and her Masters of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. She worked for Carthage ISD for 25 years, and was also a teacher for the Bureau for Eskimo Children in Alaska. She also authored a screening guide for Exceptionalities in Children.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter, Cara Lynn Evans.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Aurelia Evans of Longview; granddaughters, Natashia Dean and Candice Richardson of Longview; great grandchildren, Aurelia Shelton, Brett Dean Jr, and Everin Elise Thompson, all of Longview. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Billy T. and Helen Britt of Spring Hill, LA.
