Virginia Brooks' Obituary
Ella “Virginia” Brooks went home to Jesus on January 20, 2024, at the age of 97. Virginia was born to Lee and Mary Pierce on June 19, 1926, in Henderson County Texas. Virginia was talented with her hands, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Virginia also enjoyed playing games and 42 was her favorite. Granny loved to travel and had many adventures doing it. She loved to be with her family and friends, having a life full of great stories to tell. Most of all, she had a great love for the Lord and was a mighty prayer warrior.
Virginia was preceded in death by husbands, Ray McIntosh, John Firestone, and Wade Brooks. Her parents, three brothers: Jack, Joe, JW and one sister, Willie Ruth and grandson, Kevin Williams.
She is survived by daughter Judy Smelley and husband John Paul Smelley. By grandchildren: Paul and Victoria Smelley and Karen and Luke Roberts. Great grandchildren: Kayla and Daniel Baldwin, Kyle Williams, Adam Smelley, Logan Hale, Joslin Smelley, Vanessa and Matt Ambern, Ira and Ava Roberts. Great, Great grandchildren: John Michael, Raeleigh, and Gracelyn Baldwin. Two brothers: Dan and Larry Pierce and many nieces and nephews.
A time of viewing will be from 5pm-7pm Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
