Virgil Wesley “Mac” McDaniel
Virgil “Mac” McDaniel, 84, of Hallsville Texas, crossed over Jordan to the Band of Angels that the Lord had sent to carry him home on September 11, 2015
Mac was born March 12, 1931, in Kilbourne, LA, to Nathan and Virgie “Sims” McDaniel. He retired from Continental Can Co (Crown Cork & Seal) in 1991 after 40 years and 4 months of outstanding service.
He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle for 45 years. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping with his precious wife, Maudie McDaniel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maudie McDaniel, of Hallsville, Texas; 1 daughter, Gloria Boney, and her husband Howard of Hallsville, Texas; and 1 son, Wesley McDaniel and his wife Kathy of Texarkana, Arkansas. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Katrinia, Melissa, Brent, Nathan, Morgan, Megan; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks and our love to Bro. Mac’s, great friend and caregiver, Peggy Davidson, who has been such a tremendous blessing to his family. Also, thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for your help and your advice through our loved one’s journey home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10 am at Calvary Tabernacle, 301 E. Hawkins Parkway in Longview with Rev. Charles Chargois, Rev. A. D. Spears, and Rev. Jason Calhoun officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, 2015 from 6 pm-8pm at Calvary Tabernacle.
